Recently, wire rod plant successful finished the new steel grade SWRS87B breakdown test, the production process smoothly, process parameters and product quality of billet meet the process requirements.
SWRS87B wire rod products are mainly used for production 5 mm diameter, 1860 mpa grade of bridge cable wire, its main characteristic is high carbon, high silicon and chromium added to improve the quenching intensity. At the same time, the high silicon content can also prevent the end product to reduce the strength of galvanized steel wire. The SWRS82B wire rod of our company have been able to meet customer requirement to produce 1670 mpa grade bridge cable wire, but with the large-scale trend of suspension bridge, the market also in improving the strength requirement. Trial production of SWRS87B steel grade, is positive measures to meet the bridge cable wire market requirements.
For the breakdown process, high temperature and long heating time is the main control difficulty of this steel.
